The Baronet Public House was owned by Soulby, Sons & Winch Ltd, Anchor Brewery, West Street, Alford, Lincolnshire.

Brewery acquired in 1869 from Thomas Bradley who had founded it c.1830s. He died in 1868. Registered December 1896 to acquire E H Soulby & Sons, Alford (founded in the 1840s) and T M Winch & Co, Louth Brewery, with a total of 83 public houses. The Baronet closed in 1951, the pub is now a private residence. The large light on the facade was installed by the present owners and did not feature on the public house.​​​

It's worth noting that the Elder Tree, further along Main Street, was an ale house, a simple, place that sold only homemade ale or beer. Whereas, the Baronet was a public house a licensed building open to everyone and one that served a full range of drinks like wine, spirits, and beer.

The Baronet Inn pre-dated The Elder Tree, but is not named in Directory entries until1872 when it was run by William Scott. The Scott family continued to operate it until at least 1896; John Moore is listed in 1913; Mrs Harriet Turner from 1919 until 1933; then Edward Marks in 1937.   Jean Howard 4 October 2024
